The City of Toronto says the overwhelming majority of city workers have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
The city’s vaccine mandate went into effect on October 30 where workers were required to have one dose.
98% of workers have had at least 1 dose while 94% are fully vaccinated.
There are more than 35,000 people working for the City of Toronto. There are fewer than 1,300 who have either not gotten vaccinated or haven’t said whether they have a first or second dose.
Those workers could be placed on unpaid leave as early as this week.
Workers must be completely inoculated by November 15. Those who still aren’t vaccinated or haven’t provided proof by December 13, would be terminated with cause.
