A vintage Martin guitar, once owned and played by music legend Eric Clapton, could fetch $500,000 when it goes to auction next month.

The guitar was a gift from the now 76-year old music icon to Welsh singer Dave Edmunds in 1976.  It was first used by Clapton in a concert at the Lyceum Theatre, in London, in June of 1970.

The sale includes a signed letter of provenance.

It goes on the block at a Julien’s auction at New York’s Hard Rock Cafe on November 19th and 20th.

Also up for sale; about a thousand things once owned and used by The Beatles, Elvis, Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston.
