She a legend, a centenarian and, over the years, a hurricane.
Former Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion is being showcased in a historical exhibit which officially opens today at the Erin Mills Town Centre.
McCallion was the longest-serving mayor of any major municipality in Canada before she retired in 2014. She turned 100 this past February.
The display is called “Hazel: 100 Years of Memories.” It’s billed as an opportunity to remember, participate and celebrate interactively and immerse yourself in everything Hazel. It occupies 10,000 square feet of space and will remain open through the end of next February.
Hazel was the cover girl on Zoomer Magazine at the age of 98 making her the publication’s most senior cover subject.
