For the first time in 25 years, a familiar name is not on the Forbes 400 list of the richest people.
The former U-S president is just as wealthy as he was a year ago when he placed 339th, but he’s down $600 million since the start of the pandemic as the big city properties, that make up the bulk of his fortune have languished while tech stocks, cryptocurrencies and other assets have thrived.
Donald Trump’s estimated worth of $2.5 billion leaves him $400-million short of the cutoff.
Most of the newcomers to the list have made a killing on cyrptocurrencies, with the Winklevoss twins (owners and creators of Winklesvoss Capital Management and Gemini cryptocurrency exchange) having accumulated the equivalent of $4.3 billion U.S.
Other more familiar names include Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.
