On this National Seniors Day in Canada, an emergency meeting of CARP members is being held at noon to deal with the lack of attention given to older Canadians in the recent federal election.

David Cravit is CARP’s chief membership officer and vice president at ZoomerMedia.

He says the party leaders know how to say the right things and express the right concerns, but none of them really address the substance of how deeply the structural problems are affecting older Canadians.

“We’re going to certainly make them think of the demographic,” Cravit told Zoomer Radio’s Fight Back with Libby Znaimer, “That’s for darn sure. We’re going to be very aggressive on that.”

Cravit says CARP will be “armed and dangerous” during upcoming election campaigns and will call for specifics and honesty from leaders. And if they don’t deliver, CARP members will make them pay at the polls.

For CARP members and anyone interested in joining Friday’s meeting, registration details are online at carp.ca.

And listen for more on The Zoomer Week in Review with Libby Znaimer, this Sunday after the news at noon on Zoomer Radio.
