Joana Vicente is leaving the Toronto International Film Festival after three years as co-head and executive director.

Her last day with TIFF is October 31st before she joins the Sundance Institute as its chief executive officer in November.

Vicente joined the festival in late 2018 with an objective to expand the organization amid an ever-changing media landscape.

Before then, she worked for a decade at the Independent Filmmaker Project in New York, as well as producing more than 40 films.

Cameron Bailey currently serves at TIFF’s co-head and artistic director.

The Sundance Institute and TIFF said they’re working together to secure a seamless leadership transition for both organizations.
