With protests being held outside hospitals across the country by members of anti-vaccine groups, politicians are sounding off.

In Vancouver, Liberal leader Justin Trudeau vowed to make it criminal for people to block hospital operations.

“The Liberal government, if re-elected to form government, will make it a criminal offence to block access to buildings that provide healthcare,” said Justin Trudeau. “Whether it’s hospitals, clinics, abortion clinics, pharmacies, testing centres.

After Trudeau’s announcement, some said such a measure was already in the Criminal Code and Trudeau wasn’t announcing anything new.

Conservative leader Erin O’Toole and NDP leader Jagmeet Singh have also condemned the protests.

Toronto Police say there haven’t been any disturbances on hospital row by anti-vaccine protesters.

They say there have been no reports of anyone being obstructed from accessing the hospital and officers are on scene monitoring the situation.

Leaders from all sides of the political spectrum from all three levels of government have sounded off on the protests. Many have been calling them “selfish” and “misguided.”
