Attention Toronto dog owners: the city wants your dog poop.

7 TIPS FOR DOG OWNERS IN PARKS

The city of Toronto is expanding a pilot project capturing dog waste in street litter bins.

The latest phase of the project will see 32 more bins added around the city. 10 bins made up phase one of the project–8 of those are being retain.

“When all the dog waste was going into the ordinary waste stream, it does two things,” mayor John Tory told CP24. “It doesn’t go to the right place where it can be composted and dealt with like the organic waste like what people put out in their green bins. Secondly, it contaminates the rest of the waste stream.”

The pilot started this past May and will expand in November.
