More universities in Ontario are making COVID-19 vaccinations mandatory for those who be on campus this Fall.

Proof of vaccination will now be required at Queen’s University in Kingston, University of Guelph, and Ontario Tech University in Oshawa.

The University of Toronto and Western University in London announced their mandatory vaccination policies a day earlier, following similar plans implemented at the University of Ottawa and Seneca College.

Premier Doug Ford has been opposed to mandatory vaccination in any form, but he is in the minority with that opinion.

Ontario’s doctors are now calling for mandatory vaccinations for people working in schools.

OMA President Dr. Adam Kassam says children under 12 have to rely on others to keep them safe since they are not eligible to get the COVID vaccine.

“We know the importance of in class learning. It’s important and essential for the physical, psychological and mental development of our kids, and we’ve actually been on the record to say that schools should be the first to reopen and the last to close,” Kassam explained.

Ontario Medical Association doctors had already called for mandatory COVID vaccination for all healthcare workers in the province.
