New York’s Carnegie Hall will return from the pandemic with a gala concert October 6th and a Canadian will be conducting.
Montreal’s Yannick Nézet-Séguin will lead the Philadelphia Orchestra through “Beethoven’s 5th” and a special commission called “Seven O’clock Shout,” which honours front line medical workers.
Carnegie Hall has been shuttered since March 13, 2020.
Tickets to the concert range from $1,500 to $10,000. A ticket to the pre-concert cocktail reception will cost $1,000.
The concert is coming three days before the previously announced first event, a recital by German operatic tenor Jonas Kaufmann.
