That’s Ron Popeil, the quintessential TV pitchman and inventor of products like the Veg-O-Matic and the Showtime Rotisserie and BBQ.
The ultimate product hawker has died in Los Angeles.
Popeil began hyping and selling his inventions as a teenager at open air markets in Chicago.
He became a constant presence on television from the 1950s to the 2,000s pushing products like Pocket Fisherman and Mr. Microphone, while popularizing phrases like, “But wait there’s more” and “Now how much would you pay?”
Ron Popeil was 86.
