Two Canadians among those to receive Kennedy Center Honors when the event returns in December.
77-year-old folk music legend Joni Mitchell and 76-year-old Saturday Night Live mastermind and Lorne Michaels made the list.
The group also include Motown Records creator Berry Gordy, opera singer Justino Diaz, and actress-singer Bette Midler.
The December 5th program includes personalized tributes and performances that are kept secret from the honorees until the event.
Organizers expect to operate at full capacity. Last year’s Honors ceremony was delayed for months and later conducted under intense COVID-19 restrictions.
