For the first time in 16 months, the show can go on at the Stratford Festival.
The festival will be performed outdoors, under canopies.
Things shut down on March 16th, 2020 due to the pandemic.
It won’t quite be business as usual with only 25,000 tickets available when usually there would be 7,000 a show.
In a video released by the festival, artistic director Antoni Cimolino says they’re already looking forward to 2022.
“Our 70th season,” said Cimolino. “We will welcome you back with open arms and huge grins and such gratitude. I cannot wait for that day.”
With only a fraction of the normal audience allowed, all 2021 performances will be recorded and made available digitally in September.
