We here in Canada can expect vaccine shipments to keep arriving this week as this country gets closer to matching the percentage of people in the United States fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Another 1.4-million doses of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID vaccine are set to arrive in the next seven days.

There is also a plan to distribute 1.5 million doses from Moderna that came in on Friday.

By weeks’ end, a total of more than 55-million doses of COVID vaccine will have arrived in Canada.

The Trudeau Liberals in Ottawa promised they would reach 68-million shots delivered by the end of July and say they remain on track to hit that target.

To date, nearly 43 per cent of eligible Canadian residents have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine, giving them full protection against the virus.

In the U.S., 48 percent of eligible people are fully vaccinated.

Here in Toronto, 60-percent of eligible residents are now fully vaccinated. However, about 20 percent of eligible residents have yet to receive even one dose.
