It appears there could be labour peace at New York’s Metropolitan Opera.

The company has reached an agreement on a contract with its locked out stagehands, the second of three major deals needed to resume performances in September.

The deal with the stagehands is headed for a ratification vote which could come as early as tomorrow.

The stagehands’ contract expired last July 31. The union had been locked out since December 8th.

The company has not performed since March 11th of last year, canceled almost 300 performances plus an international tour and has lost millions of dollars.
