Premier Doug Ford says he was offered second dose of AstraZeneca but turned it down to allow others to get theirs first.
“I ended up getting a call from the drug store the other day, they said ok you’re up, you got it on March 19th but I said I’m holding off until other people can get theirs first,” remarked Ford.
But observers were quick to point out that the Premier messed up the date. He actually got his first AstraZeneca dose April 9th, not in March and therefore is not eligible according to current guidelines allowing only those who got their first shot between March 10 and March 19.
Infectious disease experts say don’t refuse a vaccine when offered, get the second dose when you can.
