With over 65% of homebound residents vaccinated, the city of Toronto and its Team Toronto partners have launched a program to deliver first doses to all remaining homebound residents.
The team’s also in many cases vaccinated the resident’s essential caregiver at the same time.
As of this past Monday, nearly 7,000 individuals have registered for in-home vaccination through their physicians, homecare service providers or self-referrals.
So far, more than 4,600 of these individuals – and in many cases their caregivers – have received their first dose.
The team’s working to administer shots to the remaining approximately 2,400 over the next two weeks.
Homebound residents who don’t have a physician or homecare provider, can call the Toronto Seniors Helpline at 416-217-2077 or go online at www.torontoseniorshelpline.ca/web-chat to determine eligiblity an in-home shot.
