Canada has its 4th case, and Ontario’s 1st, of a rare blood clot in someone who received the AstraZeneca vaccine.
”The patient is a male in his 60s who had received his first dose of the Astra
AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD vaccine,” said Chief Medical Officer Dr. David Williams.
”The patient has received treatment and is recovering at home.”
To date, over 1.1-million doses of the vaccine have been administered across Canada.
Ontario has been offering the AstraZeneca vaccine to residents 40 and older.
That’s likely to change now that the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) is recommending it can be given to anyone 30-plus.
