The High Park Zoo’s received $2.6-million in federal and Ontario government funding for improvements to the Zoo’s recreational trail, into a greener, more pedestrian friendly pathway for the up to 700,000 annual visitors.
A generous donation of nearly $1-million from ”Friends of High Park Zoo” will cover the remaining cost.
The project includes boardwalks, improved accessibility for seniors, those with disabilities and families, more green space for gardens and trees and new gathering spaces for visitors.
It’s the second phase of a multi-year Master Plan being led by Friends of High Park Zoo.
Zoomer Media founder Moses Znaimer is a long-time supporter of the 128-year-old zoo.
