Nearly 40 letters written by the Diana, Princess of Wales, to a friend were sold in an auction for more than twice the expected amount $118,000 Cdn.
“We know that period was enormous turmoil in her life, she separated from Charles, they got divorced, all sorts of things happened during that time and yet her relationship with Roger, who they were written to, obviously was a constant” said auction house spokesperson Mimi Connell-Lay.
The letters were written to Diana’s friend, Roger Bramble, between 1990 and 1997 and were discovered in a cupboard, where they had apparently been kept for more than 23 years.
Many of the letters were written when Diana was dealing with the break down of her marriage to Prince Charles.
