British street artist Banksy says yes it was him who under the cover of darkness painted an artwork on the wall of a former prison in the English town of Reading.
The monochrome picture shows a man escaping prison using a rope made of paper from a typewriter.
The elusive artist posted a video of him actually painting it with a cheeky, unrelated, synced voice over by the late American painting legend Bob Ross.
It appeared Monday outside Reading Prison where Oscar Wilde famously served two years for “gross indecency” in the 1890s.
The prison closed in 2013.
Campaigners want it turned into an arts venue.
