Not only is the late Canadian jazz legend Oscar Peterson the subject of a new Heritage Moment on TV, he’s also the subject of a new feature film.
Canadian film maker Barry Avarice has started production on a new documentary on the Montreal-born and raised jazz virtuoso.
Peterson’s widow is acting as consulting producer on the film called “Oscar Peterson; Black and White.”
The film will include archival concert footage as well as interviews with family members and musicians who played with the six time Grammy winner.
The film is set for a fall release.
Peterson died at his home in Mississauga in 2007 at the age of 82.
