U.S. President Joe Biden is acknowledging a milestone. He’s marking the administration of the 50,000,000th dose of COVID-19 vaccine since he was sworn-in on January 20th.

But he says it’s not a celebration yet, “this is not a victory lap.”

Biden says they are half way there, and weeks ahead of schedule.

The U.S. president cautions his fellow Americans not to let up their guard, and continue with physical distancing and hand washing, and “for God’s sake, for God’s sake, wear a mask.”

Biden also noted the promise of a third vaccine as early as this weekend, in addition to Pfizer and Moderna, as Johnson and Johnson’s single dose candidate undergoes review by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Health Canada has yet to approve a third vaccine, as the number of vaccinations given in this country is at a fraction of the doses administered in the U.S.

As of Friday morning, just over 1.7-million vaccines have been given in Canada including Ontario’s total of nearly 622,000 vaccines.
