Canadians are being promised that the sputtering shipments of COVID-19 vaccine will end next week.
Major General Dany Fortin, who’s overseeing Canada’s vaccine rollout, says Pfizer has confirmed it will deliver nearly 1.8-millin doses over the next four weeks.
That include 403,000 next week, 475,000 in the final week of the month, followed by 444,000 in each of the first two weeks of March.
Fortin says Moderna’s next shipment will be only 168,000 doses instead of the 249,000 previously expected the week of February
The company is struggling to increase production with its Swiss manufacturing partner.
A spokesperson for Pfizer Canada says the upgrades to its Belgian plant are complete and production’s back on track to meet Canada’s order for four-million doses by the end of March.
