The number of Ontarians who’ve been fully immunized against COVID-19 has been over reported.

The Ministry of Health explained how this happened in a statement.

”Rather than provide data on the number of people who have been fully vaccinated … officials inadvertently provided data on the number of doses administered to achieve full vaccination.”

A ministry spokesperson says data on the total number of doses given was not affected.

The province reported yesterday that 96,549 had received both doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, when actually only 48,239 had.

That’s now up to 55,286.

The vaccine data page has since been updated to accurately reflect current figures.
