Today the world remembers the six million Jews who died in the Holocaust in World War Two, when Nazi Germany attempted to exterminate an entire people.

The theme for this year’s International Holocaust Remembrance Day is “the light in the darkness.”

Holocaust Remembrance Day is held January 27th to commemorate the liberation of the Auschwitz death camp in Poland where more than 1 million people were murdered.
