Doug Ford blames Pfizer for the shortage of COVID-19 vaccines. The drugmaker says the delay is due to expansion of a production plant in Europe.

“I don’t buy any of that crap,” said Premier Doug Ford during a visit to an Oshawa COVID isolation centre.

During a phone call with the head of Pfizer Canada Wednesday, the Premier urged the company to honour the distribution deal.

“I don’t care what you’re building, you can throw any excuse you want at me, I don’t buy it, it’s simple, we placed an order, we have a contract, meet the obligations of the contract cause lives right now are in jeopardy if you continue screwing this up.”

Ford also repeated a plea U-S President Joe Biden to share some COVID vaccines with Canada, telling Washington to ‘step up.’

The province provided an update on the roll out of the rapid COVID tests.

“We were able to get another six million on top of the three million we ordered, on top of the 2.5 million we have in stock,” said Ford. “We’re encouraging all companies, especially the large employers, but the Panbio tests and do them right at your facilities, they’re $6.00 a piece.”
