When you arrive for your COVID 19 shot at the Salisbury Cathedral in southern England, you’re likely to be soothed by some Bach being played on the facility’s historic organ.

That’s because the locals have been playing the cathedral’s organ while the cathedral doubles as a mass vaccination clinic.

The cathedral’s music director says at times of crisis, listening to soothing music can be a big help to those feeling the stress of the moment.  And adds, what they’re doing stands in stark contrast to what occurred 1627 when the cathedral’s gates were closed as a plague swept the country.

Salisbury Cathedral is home to one of the best preserved copies of the Magna Carta and England’s tallest church spire and has been enlisted as a vaccination clinic as the government expands its shot program to football stadiums and convention centres to speed vaccination delivery.
