He was an American record producer, musician, and songwriter known for his innovative “Wall of Sound” recording practices who was convicted of murder and sent to prison for life.

Phil Spector was regarded as one of the most influential figures in pop music history, working with the Beatles and John Lennon, The Righteous Brothers, the Ronnetts and the Crystals.

In 2003 he was convicted for the murder of the actress Lana Clarkson and sentenced to 19 years to life in prison.

We’re told Spector died in prison as the age of 81 COVID-19 related complications.
