The Queen of Soul may be gone but she’s certainly not forgotten.
Aretha Franklin, who died in 2018 at the age of 76, is one of the women being inducted into the U-S National Women’s Hall of Fame today.
Also going in is author Toni Morrison, civil rights activist Barbara Rose Johns Powell and and Barbara Hillary, the first Black woman to travel to both the North and South Poles.
This is the first in a series of inductions meant to correct a lack of diversity in the Hall of Fame.
The inductions will be virtual because of the pandemic.
