Complications from COVID-19 have claimed the life of American composer Harold Budd who was known for creating jazz, ambient and avant-garde music.
Budd’s death was confirmed by his long time manager who said the cause was the cornovirus, although Budd had suffered stroke a month ago.
He was known for his minimalist works and collaborations with producer Brian Eno. Just this past week, he released a new album with longtime collaborator Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins.
Harold Budd was 84.
