The 40th anniversary of John Lennon’s death was marked yesterday by his widow who posted a picture of his bloody glasses online.

Yoko Ono noted that almost 1.5-million people have died from gun violence in the United States since Mark David Chapman gunned Lennon down in front of his New York apartment.

Elsewhere, former Beatle band-mates Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr each marked the day by posting photos of themselves with Lennon, musicians played in the Strawberry Fields section of New York’s Central Park and fans gathered outside “The Dakota,” where Lennon was killed.
