Canada has signed another deal for a potential vaccine.
“I can announce that we’ve reached an agreement with AstraZeneca for the vaccine they’re developing with the University of Oxford, this agreement secures up to 20 million doses for Canadians should the vaccine trials be successful,” said Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who appeared with Canada’s top health team at the daily COVID-10 briefing.
Trudeau also announced that Canada will spend $440M to join an international program aimed at ensuring vaccines are available globally, not just in rich countries. The Prime Minister says in order to eliminate the virus in Canada, COVID-19 needs to be eliminated around the world.
