The Ford government has announced it will fund Ontario-based technology to decontaminate N-95 masks and other PPE’s. Economic Development Minister Vic Fedeli says the Clean Flow healthcare Mini is a one-of-a-kind sanitizing device.
“This innovative new device will be used to sanitize N95 masks and other PPE for our front line workers,” said Fedeli. The technology can decontaminate up to 800 masks per hour. Premier Doug Ford says this is the first of its kind technology in the world as he hailed Ontario as a manufacturing powerhour.
The Canadian government has paid almost $6 billion to medical supply companies for PPE’s and other items but have received just a fraction of what was promised. In one case, just 400 ventilators were sent from an order of over 40,000.
The Procurement Minister would only say they didn’t expect everything to arrive by now and that they’re building a stockpile if there’s a second wave of COVID-19.
