Premier Doug Ford says he will not put students or teachers in jeopardy when he was asked about recommendations from a team of health experts from SickKids that schools should resume in September.
SickKids says it has worked closely with the Education Ministry to provide guidance on how to safely reopen schools and say hand washing is more effective than masks or physical distancing. The team of health experts add that recent data proves children are not super-spreaders of COVID-19. The Premier says the government will sit down with union and says teaching jobs will be protected. He says Education Minister Stephen Lecce will have more to say in the coming days.
