Three Ford Tories were tested for COVID-19 Wednesday after Education Minister Stephen Lecce recently learned that he’d been in contact with someone who tested positive. As a result, the Premier and Health Minister Christine Elliott are also being tested. Through a statement, Lecce revealed his test came back negative. A spokesperson for the Prmier said the government will not notify the public of test results.
That left Colleges and Universities Minister Ross Romano alone at the daily COVID-19 briefing. “Our Premier is acting out of an extreme abundance of caution and he wants to ensure that everyone on the premises here at Queen’s Park is safe,” said Romano.
Romano also revealed plans for post secondary to resume next month for the summer session with limited in-person training for students unable graduate due to COVID-19 closures.
In September, all students will have the opportunity to attend post secondary through virtual, in-class or hybrid learning.
