The Bank of Canada is working on plans for a new five dollar bill. Bank Governor Stephen Poloz says Canadians will be asked to nominate historic individuals they think are worthy of appearing on the new bill. In case you haven’t checked the $5 dollar bill recently, Canada’s first francophone prime minister Sir Wilfrid Laurier is featured on the note.

The public consultations will be similar to those that led to the choice of Viola Desmond for the 10-dollar bill.
