Donald Trump is sending out conflicting signals on the war in Syria. The U-S President first announced he will pull back American troops from northern Syria, clearing the way for an expected Turkish military invasion against U-S-backed Kurdish forces. But later threatened Turkey that if things go too far, they’ll suffer a decimated economy. But his decision is drawing strong pushback from Capital Hill. Trump is hearing strong pushback from Capitol Hill after he announced the sudden decision. Senator Lindsey Graham says it’s a disaster in the making and that America is not only turning its back on the Kurds, but the move will allow a resurgence of the Islamic State. Trump claims he’s trying to fulfill a campaign pledge to return American troops home. Meantime, Trump calls the impeachment inquiry a scam that’s driving his poll numbers higher, and is making it more difficult for him to do his job.
