Toronto Police have issued a public safety alert after several wild animals were found dead in the Cassandra Boulevard area.

Police believe the animals were poisoned deliberately and are warning parents with small children and people with dogs to be extra careful.

Investigators believe the poison was left in peanut butter that was smeared around a nearby park.

Anyone in the area exhibiting unusual symptoms is being told to seek medical attention.
