OYSTERS BEING RECALLED DUE TO POSSIBLE MARINE BIO TOXIN

There’s a major food recall happening involving certain Pacific oysters.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is recalling oysters that were processed by Union Bay Seafood Ltd. and Intercity Packers Ltd. with a harvest date of July 14, 2019.

The CFIA says the oysters may contain a marine bio toxin which causes Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning.

he Oysters were sold in five dozen packages in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta.

There have been no reports of illness thus far, however in severe situations Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning can cause difficulty walking, muscle paralysis, respiratory paralysis and even death.
