At least 207 people were killed after eight blasts ripped through churches and hotels in and near the capital of Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday.
At least 27 foreigners are among the dead, but there is still no word if any Canadians were killed or injured.
Global Affairs Canada has issued a statement urging Canadians in Sri Lanka to limit their movements and monitor local media.
The statement on the website reads:
“The decision to travel is your choice and you are responsible for your personal safety abroad. We take the safety and security of Canadians abroad very seriously and provide credible and timely information in our Travel Advice to enable you to make well-informed decisions regarding your travel abroad.

At least three churches, three luxury hotels and a guesthouse were among the targets.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted his condolences for those who were killed and injured.
“Absolutely horrific news from Sri Lanka. Canada strongly condemns the heinous attacks on Christians at churches and hotels. Our hearts & thoughts are with the families & loved ones of those killed and all those injured.”
The defence minister says seven suspects linked to the blasts have been arrested.
