“Excellent” is how Mayor John Tory described his meeting with Federal Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer. Following the closed door chat at his city hall office, Tory called it “productive” as both agree that affordable housing and transit are top priorities for Toronto. The two also talked about crime reduction in light of the city’s recent spike in violent crime. Scheer also again criticized the federal Liberals carbon tax and promised to bring in his party’s climate reduction plan soon. Tory plans to meet with all federal leaders in advance of the fall election.
