One person is dead following a house explosion in Caledon Sunday.

Ontario Provincial Police say they received the call at around 6:20a.m. to Maple Grove Road in the Charleston Sideroad and Highway 10 area.

Nearby homes had to be evacuated and residents were seeking shelter in a local business.

Investigators say one person inside the home was pronounced dead on the scene.

There’s still no word on what may have caused the explosion.
