A German artist will plant a weeping willow tree in Scotland on March 29th, Brexit Day, when the UK leaves the European Union. Berlin-based artist Clemens Wilhelm chose the weeping willow because it symbolizes loss and sorrow, but also evokes healing. He’ll will be joined at sunset by others at the special event. The artist says the tree planting serves as a living memorial to this historic event, but also creates a new peaceful place for people from both Brexit camps to unite again.
