ONTARIO MENTAL HEALTH FUND TO HELP FUND POLICE

A portion of the $1.9 billion dollars set aside for mental health in Ontario will go to police. The new PC government says the money would be aimed at helping first responders deal with mental health issues and offering de-escalation training. Premier Doug Ford met Monday with Toronto police Chief Mark Saunders, Mayor John Tory and federal cabinet minister Bill Blair to talk about gun violence following the fatal weekend shooting attack in the city’s east end.
