The federal environment minister says she’s disappointed that Ontario doesn’t seem to have a plan to fight climate change. Catherine McKenna and Ontario Environment Minister Rod Phillips squared off  yesterday. Phillips says he was hoping his federal counterpart  would be open to listening to the Ford government’s plans on climate change that includes getting rid of the carbon tax but the pair found no common ground. The federal government has pledged to stop any province that does not have a carbon price by imposing one of its own, something the Ford government has vowed to challenge in court.
Carbon Tax is not on the official agenda at today’s Premier’s meeting in New Brunswick but it will be discussed. Ontario’s Doug Ford and Saskatchewan’s Scott Moe
are expected to issue a joint statement on carbon pricing before the meeting begins.
