Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he does not remember any negative interactions during a music festival he attended 18 years ago in British Columbia.
A newspaper editorial at the time alleged he groped an unnamed female reporter at the event, which was a fundraiser for the Avalanche Foundation. Speaking publicly for the first time on the allegation, Trudeau told reporters in Regina during a Canada Day event that he remembers attending the music festival in 2000, but doesn’t recall anything going amiss. The editorial appeared in the Creston Valley Advance, and it alleged Trudeau later apologized to the reporter.
