There could soon be changes when you search homes for sale online.
The Federal Court of Appeal ruled Friday that realtors must make home sales data available online, including sale price and agent commission. But the Toronto Real Estate Board is appealing the decision. The board, which represents about 45-thousand members from the G-T-A, argues publishing sensitive information would violate consumers’ privacy. The ruling claimed that the board’s practices to deny sharing the information publicly is anti competitive.
