The Taliban says the allegations of murder and rape made by freed Canadian hostage Joshua Boyle aren’t true.

After five years in captivity, Boyle, his American wife Caitlan Coleman and their three young children were freed earlier in the week when their captors took them from Afghanistan into Pakistan.

They’re now at Boyle’s parents’ home in Smith’s Falls, Ontario near Ottawa.

Boyle claimed that members of the Taliban-linked Haqqani network raped his wife and authorized the murder of his daughter.

In a statement issued Sunday, the Taliban calls the allegations western propaganda.

The statement goes on to say, “No one has either intentionally murdered the child of this couple and neither has anyone violated or defiled them.“

It says Caitlan Coleman had a “natural miscarriage“ after an illness.
