An industry association that represents the country’s restaurants says that a federal government program makes it hard to get good employees.

Restaurants Canada, a national, non-profit organization, says in spite of a boom in the industry, tight profit margins, high costs and a shrinking workforce have made it difficult to hire enough kitchen staff.

Restaurants Canada spokesperson Mark von Schellwitz says the federal government could help by easing restrictions on the Temporary Workers program.
